The 2009 Young Soloists’ Concerto Concert will be held on Saturday September 5, 2009 at the Nelson School of Music starting at 7.30pm and conducted by Peter van Drimmelen.
2010 Concert
The date of the 2010 Young Soloists’ Concerto Concert is yet to be announced.
How to apply
Applicants need to be Grade 8 standard or above on their chosen instrument and can apply online or by mailing the application form obtainable from the secretary John Hudson to 27 Surrey Road, Richmond, Nelson 7020. All applications need to be supported by a teacher's reference or recommendation. Teachers may also wish to submit a reference/recommendation online.
Repertoire
Soloists must ensure that the orchestral parts for the chosen concerto are available for hire in New Zealand. The National Library catalogue is a good place to start as the NSO will only hire orchestral parts from overseas in very exceptional cases.
