The Nelson Symphony Orchestra

Making Music in 2008

'Nelson's Own Symphony Orchestra'

The Nelson Symphony Orchestra has been making music in the Nelson Region for over 40 years and is extremely proud to be Nelson's Own Symphony Orchestra.

For 2008 there will be a concert for children in March and a celebration of emerging talent in September at our Young Musicians' Concerto Concert.

The NSO Orchestral Concerts will happen in May and November when the orchestra will perform music by Stravinsky, Grieg and Rimsky-Korsakov.

At the Nelson School of Music Winter Festival in July the NSO will perform with violinist Jenny Banks in the Sibelius Violin Concerto, along with the Finlandia Suite and music by Chabrier.

To those of you who came along to our 2007 concerts: we value your support and look forward to seeing you in 2008. To those of you who have never been to an NSO concert: we invite you to come along and enjoy the performances in our 2008 concert series and look forward to meeting you soon!

You might like to consider a concert series subscription which offers savings on full price ticket rates or becoming involved with our 'Friends of the NSO' programme. We look forward to you getting in touch if you would like to explore either of these options.

But as always the best advice that we can give to make sure you can be part of the NSO experience, is to book now and avoid missing out on concert night!
